This two-day workshop is presented by Jim Knipe, Ph.D., who has been a licensed psychologist in private practice in Colorado since 1976 and has been using EMDR since 1992. Dr. Knipe is an EMDR- HAP Trainer, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Instructor, and was designated a “Master Clinician” by EMDRIA in 2007. This workshop presents a Cross Training model: the cutting edge integration of EMDR therapy, trauma informed phase oriented therapy, and ego state therapy in the treatment of highly traumatized clients. A major focus is on the exploration and negotiation of the extensive preparation phase that is often required to safely build up stabilization, affect and dissociative symptom management skills, and the therapeutic relationship, prior to the actual trauma processing and desensitization phase of EMDR treatment. This workshop is presented by Julie Miller, MC, LPC, LISAC. Julie is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified EMDR Therapist. She provides group and individual consultation to EMDR therapists, specializing in complex trauma, substance abuse, compulsivities, recent events, and related issues, and case conceptualization. Julie is also an EMDR Basic Trainer through Trauma Recovery/EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs, and is an EMDR Institute Facilitator, helping mental health professionals nationwide learn the EMDR therapeutic approach.
