If you are a masters level mental health clinician or above, with a valid license or certificate in your jurisdiction, or if you are licensable and have the approval of a licensed clinical supervisor, you are qualified to receive EMDR training. If you are a full time clinician (30 or more hours per week) in a non-profit setting, you are eligible to receive training from HAP.
HAP's training events are co-sponsored by cooperating agencies, and most participants are clinicians at the sponsor agency or a neighboring agency. Occasionally, clinicians who are eligible to be trained by HAP may find an opening in a training scheduled elsewhere. HAP encourages sponsors to welcome such individuals, but the sponsor is entitled to give priority to its own staff.
To register for an EMDR training event, consult the Schedule of upcoming trainings for the most appropriate event and please register on line.
After completing a Part I training, participants are urged to use their new skills soon and repeatedly. They are also advised to attend at least one group consultation session before they complete Part II training. Consultation events are also listed on the Schedule.
