05/02/2010 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM

Parking directions to the EMDR Part II On Friday, April 30, we will meet in First Baptist Church, which is right next to the PBA campus. Here are the directions for Friday. 1. Come from I-95 or the Florida Turnpike on Okeechobee Blvd as before. 2. Go past the campus and turn right on Flagler Drive. 3. The church is a few hundred feet down Flagler Drive on the right (the address is 1101 South Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach for those of you who use Mapquest or a GPS system). 4. Turn in the second entrance to the church parking lot (just past the church building proper), and go up the drive next to the left side of the church. 5. You will see a large concrete overhang. Park somewhere near it and enter the doors under the overhang. 6. You will see a security desk on your left. Sign in there and receive a visitor badge (this is a sign in for the church personnel: there will be EMDR and CEU sign-ins in the room where the workshops will be held). 7. Follow the signs for the EMDR workshop (the room is 326, but please do not try to find it on your own, because it is in an adjoining building to the one where you came in). The signs will direct you to that room. 8. The church has a pre-school and state regulations require that no one have contact with those children who has not gone through the state screening process, so they have asked that we not wander through the parts of the church where the pre-school is in session. 9. On Saturday and Sunday we will be in the same locations as Session 1 was held. If you have forgotten some of those specifics, see below. Parking directions for Saturday and Sunday (use in conjunction with the campus map): You will probably be approaching campus on Okeechobee Blvd coming from the west. There will be three easily-accessible parking places, the same ones as in Session 1. If you are comfortable walking about a block and one-half, we ask that you park in the Oceanview Residence Hall/Dixie Garage, which is Building 4 on the campus map. To get there, turn right onto Dixie from Okeechobee Blvd, then take the first left onto Pembrook Place. The garage is immediately on your right. Use code 2521 to get into and out of the parking garage. As you exit the garage, turn right and walk to Building 18. The room number is MacArthur 1291. There will be parking for some of the workshop participants in Borbe Parking Lot, so we ask that you reserve these for attendees who have difficulty walking. The Borbe Parking lot is right between Buildings 22 and 23. Once exiting your car, MacArthur 1291 will be immediately ahead of you, in Building 18. If you go to the Borbe parking lot and it is full, there are some Handicapped spots if you have a handicapped decal. If you are not handicapped please go to one of the two parking lots across from First Baptist Church (these are the two lots marked with a “P” on Flagler Drive, where you parked on Friday). It again will be about a block and one-half walk to MacArthur Hall from those lots. All of our Security personnel have been notified of the workshop, so you may park in any PBA parking lot without fear of being ticketed. The area is quite safe but as in any urban area, you should not leave valuables in plain sight in your car.

Your registration is conditional on payment of the training fee and receipt of both your signed Participant Agreement form (PA) and payment, postmarked no later than 2 weeks prior to the training (04/12/2010).

Unless registration is "confirmed" by receipt of payment and completed PA Form two weeks prior to the Event's advertised start date, your seat may be assigned to someone else.

Prior to your training
It is suggested that you read the first eight chapters of Francine Shapiro's book: "Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedures, 2nd Edition". The book is available on the EMDR Institute site: http://www.emdr.com/books.htm
