Volunteers conduct EMDR Basic Training Events for community based non-profit clinicians in the United States and around the world. Volunteer roles that support these trainings include: Logistics support, Consultant to Trainees, EMDR Facilitator, EMDR Trainer, and Sponsoring Agency.
Volunteers develop and coordinate Trauma Recovery Networks in their local communities as preparation for local and regional disaster response. Volunteer roles that support the Trauma Recover Network include: TRN Clinician, TRN Consultant, and TRN Coordinator.
Volunteers respond to large scale emergencies and provide direct clinical services to survivors and first responders. Examples include HAP emergency responses to Oklahoma City, Hurricane Katrina, New York 9/11/01, and Columbine, CO. The volunteer role that supports the emergency response is: Emergency Direct Service Clinician.
Volunteers provide administrative and other important support to HAP projects, contribute to the writing, editing and production of newsletters and brochures; participate in grant seeking and grant writing initiatives; conduct public relations outreach; and identify and develop fundraising opportunities.
If one or multiple volunteer roles appeal to you please take a few moments to let us know about yourself and your interests. You can create a volunteer account or update your existing account.
When will I be called to volunteer?
Volunteers are used on an as-needed basis; they always have the right to decline an invitation. We work hard to respect our volunteer's willingness to be of service and we attempt to match their skills, qualifications and volunteer interests to the needs and opportunities in their regional area.
We also attempt to develop opportunities that further HAP's mission and capitalize on our volunteer's interests and skills.
HAP's potential is only limited by our capacity to get things done.
If you have questions or comments regarding volunteering with HAP or any of the opportunities email volunteer coordinator.
