Consultant Directory

    • Trauma Recovery/HAP Trainees must ONLY use Consultants from the Trauma Recovery/HAP Consultant Directory. We recommend that you call several Consultants to negotiate fees before deciding on one consultant. PLEASE make sure to inform the Consultant that you were trained through Trauma Recovery/HAP in order to get a better rate.
    • If you know an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist in your non-profit or public agency find out if they would like to become an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. As soon as they have completed at least 5 of their 20 hours, they are eligible to be placed on the Trauma Recovery/HAP Consultant Directory. This would allow them to provide the 10 required EMDR Basic training hours to new trainees, at no additional cost to the agency.
For more information on the Certification or Approved Consultant process, please go to
Please contact Andrea Savino at (203)288-4450 ex. 21 for more information on being placed on the Trauma Recovery/HAP Consultant Directory.
    • After attending EMDR Part 1, Trauma Recovery/HAP recommends (but does not require) that each participant complete between 4 and 6 hours of consultation before Part 2. If you have not yet completed the recommended 4 to 6 hours, but want to sign up for Part 2, you can.
    • After attending EMDR Part 2, the remaining hours must be completed to total 10 hours of consultation before a Record of Completion is issued.

Our Consultant Directory is implemented in order to advance and support the Trauma Recovery/HAP mission of affordable, high quality training and EMDR therapy development and retention within non-profits and publicly funded agencies.

Consultants on the Trauma Recovery/HAP Consultant Directory have agreed to offer low cost consultation to clinicians trained through Trauma Recovery/HAP. On occasion  you may find a consultant who provides some free consultation.

The average range consultants tend to charge is between $25 to $50 per person per group consultation hour and between $50 to $100 per person for an individual consultation hour.

We recommend you consider a number of consultants on our directory in order to find the best fit for you. Experience, personality, fees charged, and how up to date they are with the current Trauma Recovery/HAP training model, are some areas to consider.

Who can be listed on the Consultant Directory:

– Trauma Recovery/HAP Facilitators in-training will be immediately eligible for the directory. If you are an EMDRIA Approved Consultant we welcome your application to begin training as a Facilitator.
– EMDRIA Approved Consultants and Consultants in-training (who have completed at least 5 of their 20 hours) and who work for a non-profit or publicly-funded agency where Trauma Recovery/HAP has trained/will be doing a training. These Consultants in-training need to offer free consultation to clinicians within their own agency. Once they begin, the AC must observe (live, audio or video recording) of at least one consultation session and provide corrective feedback to the Consultant in-training.

    • Please do not enter more than 10 hours per participant.
    • Please encourage participants to spread out the number of consultation hours between Part I and II. Trauma Recovery/HAP recommends that Part I participants complete 4 to 6 hours of consultation before attending a Part II training.
    • When a participant receives 10 hours of consultation, and all other paperwork is complete, Trauma Recovery/HAP will send a Record of Completion. Trauma Recovery/HAP will not track more than 10 hours of consultation.
