About Your Instructor:
I am excited to be part of the conference and share some self-care techniques found in yoga practice. I received my Bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Central University, MN in 2002, and my Master’s degree in social work from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 2008. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Colorado and Texas. I am bi-cultural and trilingual, and was born in Riga, Latvia.
Since 2019 I have worked as adjunct instructor for the Metropolitan State University of Denver teaching in the Masters of Social Work program. I have conducted trainings, led groups and engaged in community collaborations most of my professional career. Here are some examples of projects, I have worked on: Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Initiative, Denver’s Forensic Collaborative, Colorado Organizations for Victim Assistance, Littleton Immigrant Integration Initiative and others.
Currently, I focus on clinical work and specialize in evidence based trauma treatment. My post graduate training includes: certifications in EMDR therapy, Trauma-Informed Art Therapy, and I am also a certified (CYT 200) yoga teacher (specializing in trauma informed yoga). I plan to be certified in Internal Family Systems Therapy in 2023.
