Any non-profit or public sector agency that wishes to expand the resources of clinicians working with under-served populations can partner with Trauma Recovery/HAP to bring EMDR or other trauma-related training to its community.
Agency Responsibilities
EMDR Basic Training consists of a Part I and Part II Training Event. Each part is three days of didactic and supervised practice. Typically, the Part I and the Part II are scheduled three to five months apart.

EMDR has demonstrated effectiveness in treating chronic PTSD and old trauma memories, yet Early EMDR Intervention (EEI) has received less attention from EMDR researchers or clinicians. EEI may be used to treat acute distress (before trauma memories have been integrated) and provide brief intervention, possibly on successive days, that may prevent complications and strengthen resilience.
The Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) is part of a comprehensive approach to Early EMDR Intervention (EEI). This workshop incorporates and extends existing protocols within a new conceptual framework, together with additional measures for containment and safety. Checking for sub-clinical sticking points which can obstruct Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) and don’t necessarily show up on the DSM radar, the R-TEP may reduce sensitization and accumulation of trauma memories.
The EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) is a group application of the EMDR Recent-Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP).
This portion of the workshop presents a new practical application with a worksheet format for simplified utilization in emergency situations. The EMDR R-TEP and G-TEP have shown beneficial results in controlled studies conducted by Turkish colleagues working with Syrian refugees.
The R-TEP/G-TEP workshop is taught with video case illustrations, live demonstration and a practicum.
