Congratulations to Our Scholarship Fund Recipients

We are excited to welcome a new round of scholarship recipients to our EMDR Basic Training program as a part of the Student Scholarship Fund at Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs.

The Scholarship Fund was established in 2022 with a clear mission: to provide scholarships to master’s level (or higher) students interested in working in Community Mental Health. These scholarships reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of EMDR therapists dedicated to trauma recovery and community well-being.

During the application process, individuals share their current internship or work experience and future goals. Many scholarship recipients are working in university clinics, family therapy centers, and community-based practices. They are motivated to become EMDR trained clinicians to support their clients in reprocessing and healing trauma.

Alyssa Hahn, a graduate student at the University of West Alabama, shared, “The clients I see most commonly are first responders… mainly PTSD from their work environment or their childhood. I want to work in the sphere of community mental health because I believe that access to quality mental health care is a human right, not a privilege.”

Fatemeh SadeghMohammadi is pursuing a PhD from Kansas State University and shared, “I am committed to increasing awareness and access to trauma-informed care for underserved populations, including immigrants, LGBTQ+ youth, and individuals facing systemic oppression… I believe EMDR therapy could significantly support their healing process by helping them reprocess painful memories in a safe and structured way.”

Through the Student Scholarship program, we aim to empower emerging mental health professionals to make lasting, positive changes in their communities and to continue to increase access to EMDR therapy in underserved communities.

Over the coming year, these nine scholarship recipients will complete Part I and Part II of EMDR Basic Training with HAP and become EMDR-trained clinicians, ready and willing to make a difference in their communities. We’re excited and honored to support them on this journey.

Join us in congratulating them!
