North Western Vermont TRN
Section or area covered:
Counties of Chittenden, Franklin, Washington, Addison, Lamoille and Grand Isle
Mission: The TRN's mission is to work with Vermont residents who experience or witness elements of a traumatic death. Our referrals come from Kate Brayton, MSW (Victim Services Director, Vermont State Police, Major Crime Unit).
Our mission is also to be available to serve those who have suffered psychological distress due to a recent man made or natural community wide disaster. We will offer EMDR time limited services to individuals in times of emergency.
COVID-19: Deaths as a result of COVID-19 are considered traumatic deaths and are treated as such. The experience can be especially traumatic for family members due to various current extraordinary circumstances. At this time, we also extend our focus to supporting healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines of providing care to those affected by COVID-19. At this time all services will be provided remotely.
Model: The preferred Early EMDR Intervention is EMD. Other EMDR interventions such as Recent Event Protocol; R-TEP; EMDR PRECi, and the Flash Technique... are also acceptable. The full EMDR protocol will also be used when appropriate.
Number of free sessions: Up to 6-10 free EMDR sessions
