The Trauma Recovery/HAP EMDR Therapy Basic Training Program is open to licensed practitioners and to those who are on a licensure track if they are completing master's level coursework and are being supervised by a licensed clinician in a clinical internship — first year students are not eligible.  [[NAME]] has indicated that you are their clinical supervisor.

EMDR Therapy Training through Trauma Recovery/HAP is reserved for clinicians who provide clinical services and practice in settings that align with our nonprofit mission. Please review the training eligibility information on our website: https://www.emdrhap.org/training/trainee-resources/

    1. EMDR therapy is considered an "A" level treatment for trauma, recommended by the World Health Organization for children, adolescents, and adults. "World Health Organization. Guidelines for the management of conditions specifically related to stress. (2013)" Current research for additional applications will be presented and discussed in the training.

    2. It is not unusual for a target memory to be linked to other unexpected, potentially disturbing material or memories.

    3. A prerequisite for receiving a Record of Attendance is the completion of the three practica.  During the practicum, clinicians will both provide and receive EMDR in small, supervised groups. Please note that this practice is intended solely for educational purposes and is not a substitute for personal therapy.

    4. Case material presented didactically, on video, or experienced during the practice session may be disturbing.
      • Clinicians presently engaged in personal therapy must consult with their therapist before participating in the Training; and
      • Those who presently have a dissociative disorder should not register before contacting the Trauma Recovery/HAP office; and
      • Those with limiting or special medical conditions (such as but not limited to pregnancy, seizures, heart condition, ocular difficulties, etc.) must get medical clearance from their medical professionals prior to participating in this Training.

    5. Since the processing of targeted incidents may continue after training, other dreams, memories, etc. may surface. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the participant to seek and obtain appropriate assistance. Providing such assistance is neither a part of nor an extension of the Training. Clinicians who wish to continue with personal EMDR work can “Find a Therapist” on www.EMDRIA.org.

    6. These experiential workshops (EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 1 of 2 and EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 2 of 2) are for clinical and research purposes only and will not qualify the participant to train others in EMDR.

    7. Audio and/or video recording of the training or any portion thereof is not permitted.

    8. A Record of Attendance (EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 1 of 2) will be issued only to those who attend the full EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 1 of 2 training and participate in the practica.

A EMDR Therapy Basic Training Record of Completion will be issued only to those who complete the EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 2 of 2 training, participate in all practica, successfully complete the course evaluation and learning assessments for both EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 1 of 2 and EMDR Therapy Basic Training Part 2 of 2, and complete the ten hours of consultation with a Trauma Recovery/HAP Approved Consultant.
